On Sept 22-nd, 18 p.m. local time Oleg Mavromatti will crucify himself (on real boards in the form of an "X" nailed with real nails) in Guelman Gallery, Moscow. This action is part of a series of actions and performances of Mavromatti, which started in the spring of 2000.

Mavromatti is tight to a tree in the park of the Soldier's Memorial. On his brest, near the heard the word "KILL" is carved by a rasor.
The assistant (Egipetskii Mag) brand's Mavromatti's brest with the singn of pacifism over the word "KILL".

“Do Not Believe Your Eyes” was a scene of the movie “Oil on Canvas”, on which Mavromatti was working at this time as director and actor. This action is dedicated to the idea of pain as an obligatory part the artistic catharsis and the art of the artist. At the same time it was a political statement against the union of religion and the state power (a phenomena in Russia in the 90’s, after the change of the political system), which underestimates the faith itself as a basic right of the human being and becomes obligatory serve of the state interests.
"This action was also against the ideological pressure of the newly-powered religious institutions on the freedom of speech and artistic expression.( >>>>> )

The Ending Performance is made on the last day of Oleg Mavromatti’s and Absolute Love Sect exhibition “God’s Thought”. Oleg and Vava stitch up each other mouths, thus announcing the end of the exhibition.

August, 1993, in front of the White House (the Russian Parliament), during the days of shooting

A performance made in August, during the days when Eltsin shtoot down the Parliament and took over the White House (the building of the parliament of Russia). The performance is made in front of the curious crowd, which came to watch the tank's shooting. On the background is the burned White Huse. The tanks are situated on a street perpendivular to the street of teh parliament.
